Levon. Energetic Dog Finds Perfect New Home

Levon. A dog for adoption at Oasis Animal Rescue, Durham Region

UPDATE 7 Sept, 2014:

Levon has finally found his forever home with a couple who are well accustomed to his breed and just recently lost their beloved canine to a terminal illness. Levon will have plenty of space to run and be the recipient of mega amounts of attention from two folks that are very excited to welcome him into their family.

Best wishes to both Levon and his new family from all of us at Oasis. Enjoy!

Original Text:

Levon comes from a long line of working dogs. A cross Collie and Maremma Sheepdog, this energetic canine is loyal to his family and displays an alert, intelligent disposition that is the hallmark of a dog bred for thousands of years to act as the guardian of sheep flocks against predators.

At 20 months of age, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations, Levon is still very much a puppy and needs plenty of exercise and a well structured lifestyle that will keep him challenged and focused. His present owners, although they love him deeply, are not equipped to house him in the most ideal conditions.

A country setting would be much more suitable for this boy or, alternatively, inclusion in the life of a city dweller who is an enthusiastic outdoorsman or woman and could ensure that Levon was “on the go” a large percentage of his day.

Levon is accustomed to living with adults and has not had much exposure to children. He does, however, revel in the company of other dogs and would be thrilled, we are sure, to have canine companions in his new home.
