Welcome To Oasis

Welcome to the wild and wonderful world of Oasis!!!

Just two weeks ago we opened our doors and WOW!!!

The response has been overwhelming and unbelievably gratifying.

Food and supplies have been pouring in for the food bank, volunteers of all ages, shapes and sizes have flooded through the doors bringing with them great ideas, a ton of enthusiasm and hands “ready & willing” to attack any task regardless how complicated or how mundane.

The phones have been ringing off the hook with questions relating to stray and abandoned animals, lost pets, medical concerns, requests for a list of adoptable animals and a wide range of other topics that we, at Oasis, had not anticipated.

Those volunteering have expressed their willingness to tackle the phones, move furniture, canvass Oshawa neighbourhoods for donations, help with the intake of animals and above and beyond all else foster a dog, cat, rabbit, ferret or other domestic pet in need.

Thank you one and all. It will be the grassroot support of Durham residents that will enable us to meet what is obviously a desperate need in our community to care and provide for our animal friends.

We have, with the assistance of Five Star Delivery, delivered 30,000 flyers to residents of Oshawa announcing the existence of Oasis and encouraging each and every community member to help us in our quest to ensure a safe, loving home for each and every domestic pet in our midst. You can all help!!!

Spread the word to your friends, neighbours and fellow workers that there is a place, here in Durham, that intends to battle the epidemic of homelessness amongst the feline/canine population of this expansive region one animal at a time, one day at a time.

We look forward to hearing from you with your suggestions, comments and input.

Janet
