Ten Year Old Raises Amazing $160 To Benefit Pet Food Bank

Audrey Larocque, a ten year old student Oshawa, loves animals. So much so that her quest to help animals in need has resulted in a whopping donation of $160 worth of pet food to Oasis Animal Rescue's Pet Food Bank. "This is a pretty spectacular feat for one so young," says Janet Smith, Executive Director of Oasis Animal Rescue. "What an incredible achievement for her. We are more than appreciative for this donation". Audrey chose to become a vegetarian a few years ago and, staying true to her love for all animals, she created a school club called 'Care For Claws'. She spent time researching animal care organizations in the region and through various fund-raising events her club raised $160 for the benefit of Oasis Animal Rescue's Pet Food Bank. The Pet Food Bank was established to aid people in caring for and being able to keep their pets. "Many pet owners are forced to make the sad choice to abandon their pets when they can no longer afford to feed them," says Janet Smith. "The Pet Food Bank assists pet owners in need in keeping their beloved pets - often their only support in times of crisis. I'm sure Audrey's family are very proud of her. We certainly are." Audrey's donation was used to purchase a supply of pet foods that will go a very long way to helping pets in our community. oasisanimalrescue.ca
